Bank Sorting Code Directory

Tritech is now able to offer a new service in conjunction with BACS to provide a comprehensive Industry Sort Code Directory. The Directory contains information about all banks and building societies connected to any of the UK clearing systems i.e. BACS, CHAPS and Euro Clearings. A record exists for each bank and building society branch involved in UK payment systems.

NOTE: This service is available to users of the Tritech Instalment Processing Package software (TRIPP) only.

The Directory is available within TRIPP wherever a bank sort code is requested. Each record in the Directory includes a branch identifier in the form of a sort code, branch title, indication of the clearings in which the branch can be accessed (whether a sort code can accept Direct Debits or Direct Credits), branch postal address and telephone number

The Directory is updated on a regular basis. This must be at least once a quarter which is deemed necessary by BACS to cater for the increasing number of new sorting codes being introduced.
